I think, or at least hope, I have found the answer to my foot problems. Online I found an elastic, half sock, that is both an ankle and arch support. I've ordered it with overnight delivery. I also made another trip to Dick's Sporting Goods for a different pair of socks. If the item I bought on Amazon works, my arches and ankles will be slick. I'm going to think positive thoughts and find socks that are specialized for cushioning the balls of my feet. I realize that line leaves so much room for interpretation, but I'm not even going down that road.
In any case, a trip to Dick's and I think I found the perfect socks to cushion the balls of my feet. The socks aren't designated for a particular foot, but are printed on the toe area as being "Powered By," and the name of the manufacturer. I haven't found anyplace to insert batteries, so I don't have to worry about taking them home in a brown paper bag to avoid embarrassment. Like the last pair I bought, these are also $15 per pair. That cute little sales associate from before, talked me into buying three pair so as to earn a special number of "Scorecard Points." As he said, if it works, I won't have to come back tomorrow. I can't help but wonder if he's optimistic, or just wanting to make certain he doesn't have to see me again.
Tonight was my last night to walk my "quarter mile track." It was easy enough. Now I'll set my sights on my "half mile track." With a positive frame of mind, I'm going to make this work.
So, it’s one foot in front of the other to the finish line!
