Bloggers Note:

Blogger's Note:
I began my walking diary on 10/14/2016. However, it wasn't until November, that I set up this blogging site. That explains discrepancies in dates/times mentioned in early entries, and the shown date of posting. For chronological list of posts, please click on the blog archive link in the right side column under my profile.

Compress This

I am now the proud owner of a pair of neon yellow, compression sleeves for my shins. Did I mention these sleeves have lovely reflective chevrons which run up the back side of my calves? Doesn't this fact make you want to run out and find a pair for yourself?

In searching online I found there are all sorts of compression garments. Think about it, I have squeezed my fannie into a pair of compression shorts, have shoved my foot into a toeless compression sock which is squeezing both my ankle and arch, and am now squeezing my calf into this yellow sleeve. As most all of you know, I am not a small woman .... which is a nice way of saying even though I've lost 120-pounds in the past three years, I've still got plenty of meat on my bones. That makes me wonder, with all this compression, just where the hell is all of my excess flesh going when it is getting compressed?

I'm not going to ponder that question too long. All I care about is that the compression items are stopping my walking pain. And each of these newly-acquired compression items - including - the newly purchased shin sleeves, is accomplishing its intended goal. Tonight I completed my walk without the need to turn myself into a human popsicle when I got home by draping myself with ice packs. I should ice my knees as they did after physical therapy, but I'm just going to sit here with my bottle of Powerade, happy with my purchases, and a big smile spreading across my face. I'm glad there is no compression garment to buy which will take away my happy smile.

So, it’s one foot in front of the other to the finish line!
